Headquartered in Louisville, Ky., we’ve been a leader in American manufacturing since 1907. Our employees at nine manufacturing plants across five states build appliances that are in half of all U.S. homes.

Louisville, KY, USA

Our global headquarters in Louisville, Ky. is located at Appliance Park, a 750-acre Industrial Park established in 1951. Home to more than 6,500 employees, including 900 design and manufacturing engineers, the Louisville location includes five manufacturing facilities and is so large it has its very own zip code. At Appliance Park our employees make washers, dryers, dishwashers, bottom-freezer & multi-door (2021) refrigerators, and appliance components. We also have paint and injection molding operations at Appliance Park.

Title: Decatur, AL

Facts:

Opened in 1977, Decatur is our third-oldest manufacturing facility.

1,300 employees make top-freezer refrigerators that are sold under the GE and Hotpoint brands.

The largest private employer in Morgan County.

Body: GE Appliances’ Decatur production operation manufacturers top-freezer refrigerators for home builders and retailers. The plant, on the banks of the Tennessee River, began making refrigerators in 1977 and employs 1,300 people. Our Decatur facility is the largest private employer in Morgan County.

Title: LaFayette, GA

Facts:

In operation since 1973, Roper is our second oldest manufacturing plant.

2,050 employees make ranges, cooktops and wall ovens.

The largest private employer in Walker County.

Body: GE Appliances has deep roots in Georgia that continue to grow. Opened in 1973, Roper is the largest employer in Walker County, and one of the largest employers in northwest Georgia with more than 2,000 employees. Roper produces some of America's best cooking products – from free-standing electric ranges to wall ovens and cooktops in a variety of finishes and designs.

Title: Selmer, TN

Facts:

350 employees make premium and mass-premium refrigerators, freezers and air-conditioning products.

Monogram is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GE Appliances purchased in 2005.

The facility has manufactured appliances for more than 30 years.

Body: Monogram Refrigeration, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Appliances in Selmer that was purchased by the company in 2005 and employs 350 people. The two manufacturing buildings at the site produce high-end Monogram®, Café™ and GE Profile™ refrigerators and freezers and Zoneline® packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs).

Title: Camden, SC

Facts:

The plant in Kershaw County was originally a Haier-owned refrigeration operation opened in 1999.

In 2019, GE Appliances announced plans to convert it to a Manufacturing Center of Excellence for water heater production.

Reopened in 2022 with 140 initial employees and room for future growth.

Body: Originally built by Haier as a refrigeration plant in 1999, the GE Appliances’ renovation efforts transformed the Camden, S.C., plant into a state-of-the-art, high-volume, water heater production facility with capacity for future growth. The retooled plant opened in 2022 with an initial group of 140 employees who will build the new products.
