GE Appliances co-ops create manufacturing lessons for Doss High students
Aug 24th 2021
GE Appliances’ Louisville-based summer supply chain co-ops did more than their days jobs this year.
One group volunteered their time to support Doss High School students in Louisville by creating videos to supplement the manufacturing curriculum taught there.
Doss and GE Appliances (GEA) have been partners since 2018 with the part-time work program, GEA2Day, and a high-tech lab with a manufacturing mock demonstration line that was installed at the school by GEA.
To keep things fun this summer, the GEA Talent Development team held a competition for creating the best video.
Eight co-ops created videos to support Doss, and Gabrielle Rodriguez, from the University of Louisville, earned first place for her video on machine down time.
We thank Gabrielle and all the co-ops that participated in this project to support the students at Doss! Co-ops earning second and third place include:
- 2nd - Anne Diemer and Mayan Kirson, Ergonomics: Counter Balance Tools
- 3rd - Alison Wells and Ashley Lasky, Customer Satisfaction and Scorecards
