GE Appliances kicks off Manufacturing Month with major U.S. manufacturing investments

Oct 2nd 2026

As America’s Most Invested Appliance Company, GE Appliances has committed billions to U.S. manufacturing, including major investments at Appliance Park in Louisville — the largest home appliance manufacturing site in the United States.

Manufacturing Month is underway, and GE Appliances is highlighting the people, technology and investments driving the future of American manufacturing.

President & CEO Kevin Nolan joined VP of Manufacturing Bill Good at Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky, to talk about the transformation happening across GE Appliances’ U.S. manufacturing operations and why the company continues to invest in America.

In the conversation, Good notes that GE Appliances has invested nearly $4 billion in its U.S. factories since 2016 alone to modernize facilities, expand capabilities, and introduce new technology. That investment is part of the company’s broader $6.5 billion industry-leading commitment to U.S. manufacturing.

And according to Good, the most important part of that investment isn’t the equipment.

“Our secret sauce is our people.”

Major manufacturing investments at Appliance Park

Major projects are underway across Appliance Park, GE Appliances’ Louisville headquarters and the largest home appliance manufacturing site in the United States.

  • Building 1: $112 million investment for a new top-load washer platform and front-load dryer production
  • Building 2: A new manufacturing operation for next-generation front-load washers and Combo washer-dryers
  • Building 5: Planned investment to bring top-load dryer production to Louisville.

Together, the projects are part of GE Appliances’ broader Built for America strategy to strengthen U.S. manufacturing, expand domestic capabilities and invest in the people and technology shaping what comes next.

Automation, AI and the future of manufacturing

GE Appliances is also expanding its use of advanced technology across its factories.

Automation is increasingly being used in fabrication, welding and material movement, while manufacturing teams are using AI tools to uncover insights, solve problems and advance the company’s Brilliant Factory and digitization strategy.

For Good, now in his 39th year in manufacturing, the combination of people, technology and investment makes this an especially exciting time to be part of American manufacturing.
