GE Appliances partners with USA Cares to support veterans

The USA Cares Veteran & Family Support Program provides a coordinated system of support that includes emergency financial assistance, housing assistance, combat-injured assistance, and career transition assistance. This helps prepare service members for successful lives and careers after they leave the military and enter the civilian workforce.

Over the last five years, GE Appliances (GEA) has been able to support the agency's work to help stabilize housing and employment for hundreds of veterans across the country. Nearly 90% of all veterans who participate in the program become self-sufficient, allowing families to stay in their homes and discover their renewed purpose and sense of community.

In addition to supporting the national Veteran & Family Support Program, GE Appliances is committed to the Senior Leader Corporate Fellowship Program, a joint service program for transitioning service members in all branches of the military at Fort Knox, Ky.

The fellowship program allows veterans six months from completing their service obligation to intern with local employers, preparing them for permanent employment placement after the military.

As a corporate sponsor and partner, GEA has hired more than a dozen employees through the fellowship program and currently employs more than 350 veterans across the business who have given nearly 1,000 years of service to our country.

GEA has received the "Seven Seals" award from the US Army National Guard and the "Above and Beyond" award in 2020.
