Experienced Officer Development Program

The Experienced Officer Development Program (EODP) is a world-class leadership program designed for junior military officers (JMOs) from the armed services who are transitioning from active duty to corporate America. This immersive development program offers program members an opportunity to complete three eight-month rotations in various sectors of the business to develop the skills they need to succeed. Rotations will take place at GE Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky with options to work in satellite locations throughout the U.S. The program aims to build upon the strong leadership foundation incumbent of military officers.

While on program, members will:

Gain experience in three of the following functions:

  • Logistics
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Transportation
  • Engineering
  • Materials Management
  • Process Improvement
Receive formal training in the following areas:

  • Leadership Development
  • Six Sigma
  • Business Acumen
Have access to mentors from some of GE Appliances' most senior leaders

Build a community amongst other EODP members on program, as well as GE Appliances' vast Veteran’s network

Sounds great! How do I know if I am eligible to apply?

Requirements for the EODP include the following:

  • Exceptional military career as demonstrated through successful completion of leadership and key developmental assignments
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of commissioned officer service
  • Maximum of 2 years of separation from active duty; may be waived if due to full-time enrollment in higher education or relevant experience in manufacturing/supply chain related role
  • Ability to solve problems, delegate, and achieve difficult goals
  • Ability to adapt quickly and eager to learn and master new roles
  • Demonstrated passion for supply chain and/or manufacturing
  • Methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and leadership skills; excellent oral and written communication skills
