Kentucky Association of Manufacturers recognizes GE Appliances as the company continues to invest in American manufacturing and transform its Louisville headquarters.

The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers has named GE Appliances its 2026 Large Manufacturer of the Year, recognizing a company that has been making appliances in Kentucky for more than 70 years and is investing in the future of American manufacturing.

The award was announced October 14 at the Kentucky Industry Conference Awards Dinner in Lexington.

Kentucky has been home to GE Appliances manufacturing since 1953, when the first appliance shipped from Appliance Park in Louisville. Today, the 750-acre campus remains the company's global headquarters and largest manufacturing site.

And the next chapter is already taking shape.

As America's Most Invested Appliance Company, GE Appliances has committed $6.5 billion to its U.S. operations since 2016 alone, including a $3 billion investment plan announced in August 2025.

At Appliance Park, major projects are transforming manufacturing operations, adding new capabilities, creating jobs and bringing more appliance production to the U.S.

The recognition reflects both GE Appliances' longstanding role in Kentucky manufacturing and its continued investment in the people and facilities that will shape the industry's future.

Above all, this award belongs to the thousands of GE Appliances employees who make that work possible every day. Watch the highlights below.
