Roper Corp. Proudly Carries the Georgia Made Legacy Forward

May 8th 2025

Roper Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Appliances, is a standout example of Georgia-based manufacturing excellence.

Operating in LaFayette, Georgia, Roper has held the Georgia Made certification since 2020. The facility, which manufactures cooktops, freestanding ranges, and wall ovens, employs 2,500 people—representing nearly 37% of LaFayette’s total population.

Since 2016, GE Appliances has invested $161 million in the Walker County facility, creating 700 new jobs. In 2023, Roper marked its 50th anniversary in Georgia with a major $118 million expansion, introducing state-of-the-art assembly lines and tripling the robotics in its facility.

In partnership with Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Roper also invests in workforce development through apprenticeship programs, training employees in robotics and mechatronics to strengthen its internal talent pipeline.

“There’s a lot of pride among our employees in knowing that they’re helping deliver appliances made right here in Georgia to consumers across the country,” said Luther Ingram, president and executive director at Roper.
